About The Show:
Ancient to Urban. Classic to Contemporary. Tales that travel through time and space trip off the tongue and slot into the soul. Traditional tales with a triple twist - the new generation of storytellers has arrived! It is said that the power of life and death is held in the tongue. A curse has been spoken. Can it be undone? Directed by storyteller Xanthe Gresham (www.xanthegresham.co.uk) Tongue & Groove is a fast moving poetic flow of stories that takes you from the forever old into the here and now. Experience the power of words for yourself through tales of loss and love, wisdom and folly, humour and passion. Incorporating Greek myths and Russian folktales this unique fusion of a capella harmonies, poetic storytelling and an interactive physical style guarantees a spine-tingling energy through sound and song. Suitable for audiences aged 12 and over. What They Said About The Show:
“Brilliant - the vocal harmonies were superb. Kids and adults will love this…Just brilliant!” Giovanni Esposito AKA Spoz, former Birmingham Poet Laureate.“Vibrant, enigmatic, energetic…comic timing was perfect, worked really together as a group. Singing great!” Sara-Jane Arbury, Cheltenham Festival. “A thrilling performance full of Story, Drama, and great vocal expertise. These three young ladies are going places, and as an audience it was great to be with them on the journey! The way they gel together and work off each other is an example of great discipline and belief in the stories the are telling. An exciting and engaging fun evening. I can’t wait until they perform at the Festival. ” Peter Chand Storyteller and Committee member- Festival at the Edge.
“Annamation are storytellers to write home about! They tell tales with wit, wisdom, and movement in a way that engages, informs, and captivates children and adults alike. They have hit on a storytelling style that is both accessible and authentic, in touch with the audience and true to the story. Annamation rock!” Matt Holland, Swindon Literature Festival“Wonderful. I loved the nesting of tales. Compelling with a light touch, extremely well judged” Will Buckingham, Birmingham.
