Anna Conomos completed a Joint-Honours Drama & Theatre Arts and Modern Greek Studies Degree at Birmingham University. Since 1996 she has worked as a youth co-ordinator at camps and conferences in Romania, Greece, Australia and the UK, training and directing young people in storytelling and drama. She also has a vast cross-cultural experience, having attended numerous youth camps and festivals across Europe and has carried out three major research projects into local cultures in the Balkans.
Since 2001 she has worked at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts as a storyteller, script writer and actress. In 2005 she won the ‘Young Storyteller of the Year’ competition organised by the Traditional Arts Team in Birmingham. In the same year she performed a range of stories at the Wales International Storytelling Festival, ‘Beyond the Border’ and performed at Hebden Bridge Storytelling Cafe in West Yorkshire.
